Getting started

What does Craft Onyx do?

We design and make custom-branded products and engineered parts. In-house capabilities include 3D printing, UV printing, CNC routing, and fiber-laser engraving — so we can take a project from first prototype through short-run production without handing it off.

What kinds of projects do you take on?

Brand merch, signage, retail displays, fixtures, award plates, prototypes, jigs, and mechanical parts. The short version: if it needs to be designed, branded, or built, send it our way.

How do I start a project?

Share your goals, quantity, timeline, and any files you have through our quote form. We come back with proposed materials, a fixed price, and a timeline — plus a digital proof before anything gets made. A real person replies within one business day.

How do I reach you?

The fastest route is the quote form on this site. You can also email Contact@CraftOnyx.com or call (919) 703-7899. Either way, you’ll hear back within one business day.

Materials & capabilities

What materials can you work with?

Acrylic; PLA, PETG, ABS, and TPU for 3D printing; hardwoods; aluminum, stainless, and coated sheet metals. Finishes include matte and gloss UV print, brushed metal, and color matches to your brand.

What file types do you accept?

For artwork: SVG, AI, PDF, or high-resolution PNG. For CAD: STEP, IGES, STL, or DXF. No files? No problem — we can create the artwork or CAD files for you from a sketch, photo, or description.

How good is the color and detail?

UV printing holds fine detail and supports Pantone-style color matches, so brand colors come out right. Laser and CNC work delivers crisp, clean edges — no fuzzy outlines or charred profiles.

What tolerances can you hold?

3D-printed parts typically hold ±0.3 mm or ±0.3%, whichever is greater. Laser-cut and CNC-routed parts hold ±0.1–0.2 mm. If your part needs something tighter, tell us the critical dimensions and we’ll confirm before quoting.

Orders, shipping & revisions

Where are you located, and do you ship?

We’re based in Raleigh, NC and serve the whole Triangle — Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, Apex, Wake Forest, and Morrisville. Local pickup is free, and we ship nationwide (and worldwide) with tracking.

What are your lead times?

Prototypes are typically ready in 2–5 business days after you approve the digital proof. Short-run production takes 5–15 business days depending on quantity and finish. Need it faster? The Prototype Sprint puts a functional prototype in your hands in 72 hours for a fixed $299.

Do you have minimum order quantities?

No minimums — a one-off is fine. If you bring ready-to-cut files, machine time runs $95/hr with a $150 project minimum. When you scale up, price breaks kick in at 10, 50, and 100+ units.

Do you do wholesale or white-label production?

Yes. We produce white-label and wholesale runs with packaging options and repeatable specs, so reorders match the first batch — same materials, same colors, same dimensions.

What if I want changes after seeing the proof?

One proof revision is included with every order. If you need changes beyond that, we quote them before doing any work — no surprise line items.

Still have a question?

Tell us what you’re trying to make — goals, quantity, timeline, files if you have them. We’ll reply with materials, a fixed price, and a digital proof plan within one business day. Or call (919) 703-7899.
