This is the same workflow as our industrial CNC routing service — engineering-grade toolpaths, not craft-fair guesswork. That’s why the contours register perfectly from layer to layer.
1. Real bathymetry
We source the official depth survey of your lake — every contour in the finished piece exists on the actual lake bed.
2. Carved layer by layer
Each depth band is CNC-carved and laser-cut from Baltic birch, then stacked so the water deepens exactly where it does in real life.
3. Stained and finished
A graduated blue stain runs shallow-to-deep, shorelines stay natural wood, and a UV-resistant matte seal locks it all in.
4. Marked and framed
Your home marker, family name, or coordinates are engraved, the hardwood frame is fitted by hand, and hanging hardware goes on.
